To compliment his FREE mix we put some questions to Humberto Matias, the Portuguese music-maker behind Social Disco Club.
What new projects are in the pipeline? I’m running my own label called Hands Of Time and my latest single is I’m Good For You (with remixes from Eric Duncan from Rub-N-Tug, and Tiago from Slight Delay). Next on HOT is Tiago with a monster acid driven track, with Neville Watson remix. I also have releases coming out on other labels like Disco Deviance, Groovement, American Standard, Permanent Vacation, Elevator People, Autodiscoteque, Is It Balearic? Recordings. And touring too! What’s your favourite song lyric? “I love music, any kind of music. I love music, just as long as it’s groovin…“ Name your favourite records: I Feel Love by Donna Summer, Summer Madness by Kool & The Gang and Afternoon of a Faun by Walter Murphy. What’s on your radar right now? Tensnake, MCDE, Tiago, The Revenge, TBD, Azari & III, The Stallions and House Of House. Most visited blogs and websites? Google, Juno, DJ History, Another Night On Earth blog, Soundcloud, Ebay, and of course, Facebook. What are your favourite haunts in your home town of Porto? It is really a beautiful town, so there’s many interesting places like Casa da Musica, Serralves Museum, Miguel Bombarda Street… oh, and the restaurants! Eggs – how do you do them? Every possible way. What would you do if you had a million hands? The same I do with only two, but faster!
