hot air wear
Dutch designer Sander Reijges puts the the ‘statement’ in fashion statement with his range of hoodies that incorporate the faces, limbs and ladyparts of plastic blow up dolls. So what’s the concept behind using the dolls’ plastic goodies in his garments? Says Reijges: “In daily life, we are bombarded through the media and advertising with images of especially female nudity to stimulate consumerism. I remove the sexual function of the dolls by turning them into a jacket or a bag. In this way, the doll can ‘feel’ by performing a normal day-to-day task.” We’re not sure we’ll be wearing one anytime soon… but they certainly made us smile.
